There are two new recipes on Linguacuisine designed to be used by Newcastle children with free school meal vouchers (or others) to cook themselves at home, called TeenCook. The recipes – French crepes/pancakes and Spanish chilli con carne – are bilingual, done in English as well as the foreign language to make them easier and use cheap simple ingredients. There is extra information from the city council for parents under ‘extras, cuisine’ on the app. They have also made a short film to help parents with some top tips too. You can view this at https://biteable.com/watch/top-tips-for-feeding-your-child-on-a-low-budget-2510488 (use chrome or Microsoft edge or Firefox to view – not explorer).
